Stocks, Mutual Funds and other Securities
There are other ways to help the Opera Company of Middlebury than simply with a gift of cash. If you have stock and mutual funds which have appreciated in value since you acquired them, consider donating them to the OCM. You may save on taxes twice – once by avoiding capital gains – plus with the charitable deduction.
Contact Dan Devost below or your own tax professional to learn more about the possibilities.

To insure that everything will go smoothly, if you donate securities via DTC transfer, please inform the Opera Company of Middlebury of the name of the security, the number of shares, and the date of transfer. You may e-mail this information directly to: firstname.lastname@example.org
Another way to help the OCM is through a bequest as a beneficiary through your estate. When you name the OCM as a beneficiary in your will, you will help to continue live, professional opera in the area.
Employer Matching Gift
If your employer matches gifts to non-profit organizations, your gift to OCM can be worth twice as much. Matching gift programs are set up as a way for a company to make charitable contributions to organizations that are important to their employees and, in some cases, their retired employees.
Check with your company’s Human Resources Department to learn whether your company has such a program. Complete and submit their matching gift form.
