Beth recently retired as a dean at the Middlebury Language Schools. Raised in Los Angeles, her mother sang, played piano, and tuned into the MET Saturday opera broadcasts. Before moving to Vermont, she was research associate to Bill Moyers at PBS and CBS News New York. Later, living in Brandon, she spearheaded the restoration of a church steeple that was toppled in a hurricane in 1950. She lives in Cornwall with her husband Tom, a preservation architect.
Michele Brown worked for 20 years as an underwater acoustician and for 24 years as an owner/innkeeper of four inns. During her next 20 years she will focus on working for her church and for OCM!
Professional soprano Sarah Cullins lives in Burlington with her husband and son, maintains a large private voice studio, and is the founder and Executive Director of the Youth Opera Company of Vermont. A ninth-generation Vermonter, Sarah is thrilled to support opera in the Green Mountains by wearing many hats at OCM, including as a frequent soloist, Coordinator of the Young Artist Program, and a member of the Education & Outreach Committee.
Rich has been an educator for over 45 years. He, and all the members of his family, have been active in local theater and music groups for years.
Norma Norland lives in the town of New Haven, having moved to Vermont in 2011 from Lexington, MA, where she was one of the founders of Lexington Oral History Projects. She is retired from M.I.T. where she was Director of the undergraduate research (UROP) program. She is a board member of Five-Town Health Center in Bristol, and does her best to aid Protect Our Wildlife.
Jim lives in Cornwall. He grew to love opera through the Saturday afternoon broadcasts from the Met. He heard Lucia Popp in Munich in 1982 as a last-minute substitute in The Magic Flute.
