The Metropolitan Opera has cancelled all performances through December 31st, 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. We continue to monitor the situation and are hoping to resume presenting our MET in HD series in January.
Until then, why not take advantage of the enormous and unprecedented offerings being made available online by other companies around the world?
Just about every major opera company and every major orchestra is offering free online streaming of their past productions.
The Met is posting a different opera each evening and keeping it available for almost 24 hours. Most of these operas were initially shown in theaters as HD broadcasts but the Met is also digging into its archives to pull up Live at Lincoln Center broadcasts first shown over commercial television networks.
