The Opera Company of Middlebury Board of Directors has announced the difficult decision to cancel our fall production. This decision to take an “intermission” was not made lightly, particularly given that we did not, as so many other companies, go “dark” during the pandemic, but soldiered on through impossible situations to make beautiful and unique opera.

We have poured our limited resources into dozens of productions over the last two decades, but over the last few months, our resources and staff have reached a breaking point.

We believe this is the right path forward, as difficult as it is to take this time away from our dedicated audience. We hope you will understand and support our mission to build a more enduring company in “Act II.” We look forward to informing you frequently of our progress and to seeing you in 2023 for our 20th Season.
